지원자들은 취업을 목적으로 취업하려는 병원에서 요구하는 자기소개서에 지원 동기를 작성해야 하는데 자신이 원했던 병원이나 부서가 아니어서 지원동기라든가 입사 후 포부 등의 항목을 기재하는데 매우 어렵게 생각하고 있고 이로 인해 면접에서도 난감한 경험을 많이 가지고 있다.
지원동기는 해당하는 병원이나 부서에 지원자가 어떤 이유로 지원을 했는지에 대한 답변을 점검하는 것이다. 합격을 위해서라면 설사 자신이 원하지 않았던 병원이나 부서라도 경영이념, 경영목표, 브랜드 로고, 가치관이나 광고 등 그 병원이나 부서의 이미지를 자신의 가치관이나 전공과 결부시켜 지원동기를 서술해나가는 것이 평가자의 마음을 움직일 수 있다. 지원자가 자신의 병원이나 부서가 아닌 경우, 지원 동기는 더욱 세심하게 자신의 성장과정이나 교∙내외활동 혹은 기타 자신의 취미나 성향에서 지원동기를 발견하여 병원이나 부서나 지원직무에 매칭 시키는 노력이 필요하다.
